Abstract :
In this study, tear strength and breaking strength changes in weft and warp directions of denim fabrics produced from 100% cotton yarn and different hemp blend ratios were investigated. It has been observed that as the hemp ratio in the fabrics increases, the breaking strength in the warp direction decreases and the tearing strength increases. When hemp blended fabrics were compared to the control group fabric consisting of 100% cotton, a decrease was observed in the weft direction tearing strength and also a relative increase in the warp direction tearing strength was observed among the blended fabrics with the increase in the hemp fiber ratio.
