Abstract :
In this article, the synthesis of polyurethane foam (PU) and its mechanical and chemical properties as well as its place in the field of industry, especially biomedical applications, are reviewed. The mechanical properties and composite PU usage areas resulting from the improvement of the mechanical properties of PU materials and their combination with composite materials have been compiled, especially studies on the problem of diabetes and diabetic foot ulcers, which is the problem of around 442 million people in the world. For this purpose, the comparison of knitted intermediate fabrics with different structural parameters has been included in the review to discuss the effect of PU and PU composites on the mechanical performance of them on diabetic patients. The resulting PU composites compression and impact properties are the findings obtained from literature. All the results show that the products exhibit solutions and promising mechanical performance and are expected to benefit for the future considering their market values and sustainable service life.
