Abstract :
Filament yarns are the backbone of the textile industry, serving various purposes from everyday clothing to industrial applications. However, the development of sustainable and functional filament yarns has been fueled by the rising concern for sustainability and the desire for greater functionality. This paper offers a thorough examination of current developments in functional and sustainable filament yarns, examining their manufacturing processes, characteristics, uses, difficulties, and potential future directions. It looks at a variety of environmentally friendly strategies including recycling and biodegradability in addition to practical improvements like moisture control and antimicrobial qualities. This study also addresses functional and sustainable filament yarns that are sold commercially, providing information on their properties and uses. The study seeks to provide insightful analysis to help industry experts, scholars, and decision-makers navigate the terrain of sustainable
