Abstract :
Technical textiles have an important place in the textile industry. The importance of fibers with superior performance properties produced with the latest technology is increasing day by day. These fibers are preferred because they differ from conventional fibers with many features such as high strength, flame resistance, high chemical resistance, and better results. It is aimed to develop a fabric that has the appearance of denim fabric, but also has high strength properties and ignition resistance. For this purpose, 14 Ne yarns were produced as rigid, corespun and dualcore, respectively, by adding P84 fiber at a rate of 30% and cotton fiber at a rate of 70%. The produced threads were used as weft threads in denim fabric. In yarn and fabric tests, it was determined that P84 fiber increased the strength values when compared to 100% cotton versions. Flame retardancy test results also showed that P84 fiber increased its flammability resistance.
