Abstract :
Implementing sustainable methods to conserve resources is essential as the global demand for petroleum consumption grows. This study concentrates on reusing High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), a durable plastic sourced from petroleum. By mixing waste and virgin HDPE, the research aims to improve the mechanical properties of HDPE monofilaments. The experimental analysis investigates the impact of blending on the production of monofilaments, revealing a direct correlation between the speed of the extruder and the monofilament count. Results indicate that blended HDPE monofilaments are stronger than those made solely from waste material, highlighting blending as a promising method to enhance recycled HDPE's suitability for monofilament production.
