Abstract :
Fabric handle is a feature that is important for end-use. The most important properties related to the fabric handle include its bending rigidity and drape. Bending rigidity is related to the stiffness of the fabric. The stiffer the fabric, the higher its bending rigidity. Just as there are many fabric parameters that affect bending rigidity, many processes to which the fabric is subjected also affect bending rigidity. In this study, fabrics in two different constructions, whose raw materials are cotton and polyester/viscose, were used and these fabrics were subjected to bleaching, dyeing, finishing and laundering processes. The bending rigidity properties of these fabrics were examined comparatively. In the study, the bending rigidity properties of the mentioned processes were observed, and the effects of fabric construction and fabric direction on the bending rigidity values were determined. According to the results obtained; it has been determined that the mentioned processes have different effects on bending rigidity. In addition, it has been determined that the effects of these processes may differ depending on fabric construction, the processes interact with each other, and the fabric directions also affect the bending rigidity results.
